Bitcoin ETF Inflow of $526.6M Is All IBIT, Leaving Breadth Thin Below the $88K Test
US spot Bitcoin ETFs took in $526.6 million on Monday, the biggest day since September 22, and BlackRock's IBIT was the only fund with a net inflow. Price Pulse reads it as a concentrated, not broad, demand signal that meets one of two Glassnode conditions for a push above $88,000. Ethereum funds kept bleeding.
Monday's $526.6 million inflow cut October's net ETF outflow from $617.17 million to $90.57 million. The catch: per SoSoValue, IBIT was the only one of 12 Bitcoin funds with a net inflow. That is one issuer's bid, not a market-wide stampede.
The timing matters. Bitcoin held $80,000 in a week when the Nasdaq fell 5% and the semiconductor index dropped more than 11%. Relative strength plus a returning ETF bid puts price at $82,060, back above the roughly $81,500 ETF cost basis per Glassnode. Holders under water tend to sell rallies into breakeven, so reclaiming that level removes a source of supply.
The bigger test is $88,000, the cost basis of six-to-12-month buyers. Glassnode said a daily close above it with renewed ETF inflows would show buyers absorbing that supply. One IBIT-led session covers part of the flow condition, not the price condition. The 50-week average near $76,100 stays the bull-market line, with $80,000 and $76,000 as support.
The counterargument is rotation, not fresh demand. Ethereum funds shed $103.28 million, with outflows on 14 of 15 days totaling $1.12 billion. Chip-stock weakness could also drag risk appetite and flip flows quickly. Watch whether other funds join IBIT and whether inflows repeat on consecutive days.
