Bitcoin Targets $80K as ETF Inflows and Short Squeeze Fuel 24% Rally

Bitcoin recorded its strongest weekly gain since March 2023, jumping nearly 24% from under $64,000 toward the $80,000 level. Heavy spot ETF inflows and forced short liquidations drove the rally. Analysts warn that sustaining this momentum requires persistent organic spot buying.

Bitcoin pulled off a sharp 24% advance from under $64,000 toward the $80,000 mark, logging its strongest weekly performance since March 2023. Massive capital flows into U.S. spot ETFs combined with a wave of forced short covering across derivatives exchanges to fuel the move.

While leverage drove the initial spike, analysts emphasize that derivatives liquidations alone cannot sustain a breakout above key macro levels. For price action to cement $80,000 as support, organic spot bids must actively step up to absorb profit-taking and wall resistance.

Without persistent spot demand, short squeeze rallies risk sharp pullbacks as futures leverage resets. Institutional flows remain the critical catalyst to watch as buyers defend higher low structures.
