BitMine Buys $81M Ethereum as ETH Breaks $2,500 in 30% Weekly Surge

Tom Lee’s BitMine added $81 million in Ethereum to its balance sheet, raising its total ETH treasury to nearly 5% of circulating supply. The firm now holds over $14.6 billion in Ether while staking 87% of its tokens. With ETH up 30% over the week, institutional players are market-buying the breakout rather than waiting for dips.

Tom Lee’s BitMine Immersion Technologies isn't waiting for a market pullback. The firm scooped up another 32,447 Ether worth $81 million as ETH breached $2,500, marking its largest weekly allocation since early July.

BitMine now controls 5.84 million ETH—roughly 4.8% of the asset's circulating supply—pushing it closer to its ultimate 5% target. Total corporate treasury holdings reached $14.9 billion. Crucially, 87% of that entire stockpile is locked in staking protocols, setup to generate roughly $330 million in annualized revenue.

While retail traders hesitate, institutional capital is absorbing spot liquidity directly into strength. ETH gained 30% over seven days, clearly outstripping Bitcoin's 22% advance. Lee noted that historical 30% weekly candles have previously signaled the launchpad for macro multi-month expansions.
