BitMine Nears 5% Ethereum Supply Cap as Major Corporate Buy Bid Prepares to Exhaust
BitMine Immersion Technologies is roughly 100,000 Ether away from capping its corporate accumulation at 5% of total supply. With remaining spot purchases capped at around $230 million, the largest corporate treasury bid in the Ethereum market is about to disappear. This leaves price discovery heavily exposed to ongoing spot ETF net outflows without a persistent structural backstop.
BitMine Immersion Technologies is finalizing its multi-year accumulation drive, standing just 100,000 Ether shy of its hard target of 5% of total circulating supply. Holding over 6 million tokens, the firm is preparing to sunset its active spot buying program, removing one of the most consistent corporate bids from the order books.
The transition marks a structural pivot from active spot buyer to institutional yield producer. With over 5 million Ether staked, BitMine will harvest roughly $363 million in annual staking yields, shifting its primary focus to balance-sheet maintenance rather than driving fresh spot volume.
Without this programmatic treasury absorption, spot market liquidity must now absorb selling pressure entirely on its own. Recent spot ETF net outflows have already outpaced BitMine's weekly buy rate by a factor of ten, underscoring how vulnerable price stability remains once the main corporate backstop steps aside completely.
