Fed Delay Opens Window for Bitcoin Relief as October Rate Odds Collapse

Dovish comments from New York Fed President John Williams sank market expectations for an October interest rate hike below fifty percent. The sudden shift in interest rate futures gives crypto liquidity short-term room to breathe before upcoming PCE inflation data. While hawkish Fed rhetoric remains a background threat, immediate tightening pressure on risk assets has visibly eased.

Federal Reserve vice chair John Williams cooled market expectations for an immediate policy squeeze by stating there is no urgency to hike rates in October. Interest rate futures rapidly recalibrated, sending the probability of an October rate increase sliding below fifty percent from above seventy percent earlier.

This sudden cooling off gives digital assets a temporary liquidity buffer after weeks of macro uncertainty. Institutional capital had already demonstrated resilience following September's quarter-point rate adjustment, and delaying further monetary tightening removes an immediate ceiling for crypto valuations.

However, market participants cannot declare total victory just yet. Fed Governor Michael Barr maintained a hawkish stance, pointing to persistent core inflation and rising hardware costs driven by artificial intelligence spending.

The ultimate direction now hinges on incoming macroeconomic data, starting with the upcoming PCE price index release. A hotter inflation print would quickly restore tightening odds, whereas a soft reading will lock in the pause and provide risk assets room for further upside.
