HYPE ETF Inflow Streak Ends: $7M Outflow Hits as Bitcoin, Ethereum Funds Surge
HYPE ETFs just posted their first weekly outflow since May, snapping a 9-week inflow streak. This $7.26 million exit coincided with an 8% price drop for the HYPE token. Meanwhile, Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs saw significant inflows, signaling a potential rotation.
HYPE spot ETFs registered their first weekly outflow since launching in May, breaking a nine-week streak of capital accumulation. The funds shed $7.26 million in the week ending July 17, cutting cumulative net inflows and seeing net assets slide 12.7%. This move coincided with the HYPE token's price decline.
In stark contrast, major crypto funds saw renewed interest. Bitcoin ETFs pulled in $75.67 million, marking their second consecutive week of positive flows after an eight-week outflow period. Ethereum ETFs recorded their strongest weekly haul since late April, adding $105.44 million.
XRP and Solana funds also attracted fresh capital, contributing to over $188 million combined across the four major groups. The HYPE token itself dropped over 8% last week, making it the biggest loser among the top 10 cryptocurrencies and underperforming the broader market.
The selloff pushed HYPE below $60 temporarily, aligning with a broader altcoin risk-off sentiment. Whether this outflow is a one-off or the start of a rotation away from HYPE will be revealed in upcoming flow data.
