Hyperliquid Spot Funds Shed $27M as VCs Deposit Millions in HYPE to Centralized Exchanges
Hyperliquid is facing heavy institutional sell pressure as US spot funds mark seven consecutive sessions without inflows, losing $27 million in AUM. At the same time, venture heavyweights Multicoin and Selini Capital transferred over $34 million worth of tokens to exchange wallets. A modest corporate treasury purchase from Japanese firm Eole has done little to arrest the month-long slide.
Institutional appetite for Hyperliquid is drying up rapidly in the United States. US-listed HYPE funds have registered zero inflows since mid-July, suffering seven distinct sessions of capital flight that pulled twenty-seven million dollars out of the products and trimmed total assets under management down to two hundred fifty-two million dollars.
The ETF outflow pressure coincides with heavy on-chain token deposits by major venture capital players. Multicoin Capital unstaked over one million HYPE tokens before transferring over seven million dollars worth to exchange custody, while a wallet linked to Selini Capital moved nearly twenty-seven million dollars in tokens onto OKX.
A lone bright spot emerged from Tokyo, where publicly listed Eole purchased over ten million yen of HYPE as part of a planned one hundred million yen treasury allocation to support AI payment rails. However, corporate buying has been completely overwhelmed by whale liquidations, leaving HYPE down nearly twenty percent on the month as it trades near fifty-three dollars.
