MicroStrategy Surges as Bitcoin Hits $70K, but Treasury Stack Remains $4.7B Underwater

MicroStrategy stock rallied 6.9% to erase two months of losses as Bitcoin topped $70,000 for the first time in 78 days. A $1.5 billion short squeeze and liquidity signals from the US Treasury fueled the crypto equities surge. However, Michael Saylor's treasury remains $4.7 billion underwater, requiring a rise to $75,385 to break even.

MicroStrategy stock popped 6.9% to clear two months of downside, riding Bitcoin's move above $70,000 as macro liquidity signals jolted markets. A massive $1.5 billion short squeeze caught bears off guard, with $700 million liquidated in under sixty seconds after the US Treasury doubled its bond buyback operations.

The rally was further amplified by SEC proposals easing capital raises for crypto firms. Equity flows rushed heavily back into treasury vehicles and exchanges like Coinbase, leaving mining operations lagging far behind as macro capital re-entered liquid proxies.

Yet behind the stock market surge lies a sober treasury balance sheet. Strategy's stack of 840,447 Bitcoin remains nearly $4.7 billion underwater with an average break-even entry price of $75,385 per coin.

The corporate giant even broke its historical holding stance by liquidating a small portion of coins earlier this summer while pausing fresh acquisitions. Until Bitcoin reclaims $75.4K, Saylor's treasury stays red while equity traders ride the volatile upside.
